What should I bring along?Your charter yacht, Damai, has most of what you will need already onboard, including bed linen, bath towels, pillows, blankets etc. You really only need to bring personal items – clothing such as T-shirts & shorts (quick-drying outdoor clothing is ideal), swimsuit, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, toilet kit, alcoholic beverages, video camera or camera (waterproof bags for protection from salt water), and personal snorkel gear if possible.
What is the climate like? The climate is hot and humid. July to September is the dry season, with December to January the rainiest period. Temperatures range from 75-90°F (24-33°C). The islands are under the influence of the SE monsoon from April to October and the NW monsoon from November to March, although land and sea breezes predominate close to the islands. The islands are not affected by tropical cyclones.
What is the typical visibility?Visibility as well as water temperatures can vary greatly. The best visibility is during the dry season, and can often be more than 90 feet/30 meters.
What about ocean currents? The seas around Bali are well-known for strong currents, caused by heavy water exchange from the Java and Flores Sea in the North, and the Indian Ocean in the South. Itinerary and swimming/snorkeling spots are planned according to wind, currents and tidal conditions. Our experienced crew will advise on conditions at the time of your charter.
What about onboard electricity? On board your charter yacht, Damai, electricity is both 12V DC and 220 Volt AC / 50 Hz, with international plug adaptors onboard. Mobile devices, (telephones, cameras etc) can be charged either by the 12V cigarette-style adaptor chargers onboard or by the 220V plugs.
Do I need Baggage & Health Insurance?Insurance for your travel in Bali is optional but we recommend it. Your local travel agent can most easily recommend companies offering appropriate products for your circumstances.
Please NoteYour charter yacht, Damai, has a 'smoke free policy' below decks. |
